Each week, coverage begins with FOX NFL SUNDAY (12-1 p.m. ET/9-10 a.m. PT), America's most-watched pregame show for 14 straight years. Curt Menefee returns as host alongside veterans Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Jimmy Johnson, Pam Oliver, insider Jay Glazer and comedian Frank Caliendo. Since its premiere in September 1994, FOX NFL SUNDAY has won 19 Emmy Awards for its production and personalities, including four for Outstanding Studio Show.
In 2007, FOX Sports was crowned the No. 1 NFL network, out-rating all other NFL rightsholders including the league's prime-time over-the-air package, a first for any Sunday afternoon broadcaster. The NFL on FOX scored its most-watched season in 12 years (averaging 17.1 million viewers) and highest-rated (10.7/23 average household rating/share) since 1999. The NFC package on FOX out-rated the AFC package for the 13th straight season.
For several seasons, FOX Sports has presented an unmatched offering of NFL games in high definition. This year, for the first time ever, all NFL on FOX games are produced and broadcast in state-of-the-art HD beginning with three preseason broadcasts in August straight through coverage of the NFC's postseason.
The 2008 NFL on FOX season includes 58 games featuring last season's NFC playoff teams, including 10 games each featuring the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants, the NFC East Champion Dallas Cowboys and the NFC North Champion Green Bay Packers. The NFC West Champion Seattle Seahawks play 13 times while the NFC South Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers and NFC Wild Card Washington Redskins each have 12 scheduled games. FOX Sports' 2008 regular season schedule also includes two games featuring the AFC Champion New England Patriots.
Once the playoff teams are determined, the NFL on FOX presents exclusive live postseason coverage, including an NFC Wild Card Game on Sunday, Jan. 4, the NFC Divisional Playoffs, Saturday, Jan. 10 and Sunday, Jan. 11, and the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Jan. 18.
The NFL on FOX's 15th season of coverage begins with three prime-time preseason contests, the first of which kicks-off under the lights of Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, August 14 (8 p.m. ET), when the Carolina Panthers visit Donovan McNabb and the Philadelphia Eagles. FOX Sports' second preseason game takes place on Saturday, August 16 (8 p.m. ET) when the Oakland Raiders travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans. FOX Sports' final preseason broadcast comes on Thursday, August 21 (8 p.m. ET) at historic Solider Field when the San Francisco 49ers visit the Chicago Bears.
David Hill and Ed Goren are the Executive Producers of the NFL on FOX. Bill Brown is Senior Producer and George Greenberg is Creative Director. Scott Ackerson is the Coordinating Producer of FOX NFL SUNDAY.
